Team ENEOS Scores Valuable Points at 2025 MotoGP Argentina

It was a challenging Gran Premio de Argentina for Team ENEOS but Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP toughed it out to score valuable Race points. Álex Rins strategically focused on tire management to secure a 12th-place finish at the Termas de Río Hondo circuit. Meanwhile, Fabio Quartararo, after narrowly avoiding a collision in the first corner, recovered from 19th to 15th position by the end of the race.

Launching from P12 on the grid, Rins negotiated the first corner safely and held the position on the opening lap. He moved up to P11 early on due to a competitor completing a long-lap penalty but lost the position on lap 11 to Luca Marini. The Spaniard had a lonely ride from there until the finish line, where he collected his first championship points of the season.

Tough race, but it was my decision to run a soft tire,” said Rins. “Data from the Sprint pointed towards using a medium tire for the Race, but it didn’t feel good during the Warm Up, so I opted for soft, which was really difficult to manage throughout the race.

El Diablo had a better P7 start but disaster struck before reaching the first apex when Marco Bezzecchi clipped his M1, causing Quartararo to fall to the back of the pack in P19. He fought to come back and steadily crept back up to P15 by lap 18, holding it to the end, 25.148sec from first.

There’s not much to say, that touch at the first corner was unfortunate,” Quartararo explained. “I went wide, fell to last place, and our pace suffered all weekend. I could’ve been a few positions higher starting the Race like I did since you pretty much keep your position. We’ll try to do better at the next GP.

Following the Argentine GP, Quartararo is 15th in the overall standings with five points, while Rins put his first four points on the board for 16th behind his teammate. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP is tied for tenth in the team championship with nine points, and Yamaha retains fifth in the manufacturer championship with 12 points.
