Team ENEOS Gets Down at HyperFest 2024
Self described by its organizers as an “automotive amusement park”, HyperFest is a three-day automotive mega festival held at VIRginia International Raceway, bringing enthusiasts together for road racing, time attack, karting, rally, burnouts, off-roading, car show, camping…and whew, one of our favorites: drifting.
When we caught word that two of our Team ENEOS drivers were going to be attending this year, we could hardly contain our excitement. Dai Yoshihara already had his decommissioned Formula DRIFT PRO competition BRZ on the East Coast for Drift Appalachia, and joining him (from that same event) was teammate Rich Whiteman with his S13 missile car. These boys totally let things rip from start to finish all weekend long.
The two drivers had a small incident during one of the sessions, when Yoshihara spun out and Whiteman popped through the smoke, lightly damaging the BRZ. But Dai had the car up and running for the final day…all is good with Team ENEOS!
“It was my first time at Hyper Fest, and it didn’t disappoint!” Yoshihara exclaimed. “The Patriot course was super fun to drift alongside my ENEOS teammate, Rich, and all the friendly drivers and excited drift fans made the event so enjoyable. Can’t wait for the next one!”
“Hyperfest is one of my all-time favorite events and this one did not disappoint!” Rich said. “It was awesome giving ride-alongs and letting fans experience the track, and I finally got some laps with my ENEOS teammate, Dai. I felt bad about damaging his fancy car, but that’s drifting! Other than that, the car worked perfectly all weekend and I’ll be counting the days until next year.”
