Quartararo Finishes Top 15 at Thailand MotoGP 2025

The high temperatures at Chang International Circuit during the initial race of the 2025 Thailand MotoGP season presented difficulties for Team ENEOS. Fabio Quartararo attained a 15th-place finish, while teammate Álex Rins finished in 17th place.

Starting from P10 on the grid, El Diablo’s opening lap saw him drop down the order to P18, where the 26-lap race became a test of perseverance. Other riders struggled in the second half of the blistering Buriram GP, but the Frenchman climbed up the order to finish in 15th place, 26.456sec from the winner.

From the beginning we had grip issues, which caused me to struggle a lot,” Quartararo said. “I couldn’t push on the first lap, the bike was sliding, and I lost several positions. It was really hot riding at the back of the pack, very difficult. Let’s see what we can do in Argentina.

Rins reached as high as P14 in the first five laps but dropped to P15 after a third of the race had passed. Although Enea Bastianini overtook him on lap 15, Joan Mir’s crash on the same lap allowed Rins to hold his position. Rins hoped to earn his first championship points of the season, but his bike began to overheat. This forced him to fall back to P17, where he finished the race 31.095 seconds behind the leader.

This was a physical test having to handle so much heat,” said Rins. “After lap 7 I couldn’t handle it, and my leg burned. I gave 100-percent each lap, but with four laps to go, I lost the front in Turn 4 and it was a mess trying to recover from that.
