Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Unveils Historical Livery for MotoGP 75th Anniversary, Rins Signed for Additional Seasons
In honor of MotoGP’s 75th anniversary, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP and the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Test Team will be sporting an iconic livery at the upcoming British GP. Used by Yamaha since its first entry in the GP World Championship in 1961, it’s based on the YZR500 color scheme made famous by GP legends Jarno Saarinen and Giacomo Agostini. Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins will be sporting special leathers and helmet designs that were inspired by Saarinen’s gear, while Remy Gardner’s special helmet design was inspired by Eddie Lawson.
The team also announced that Rins will be staying on for the 2025 and 2026 seasons as a team rider, as his extensive experience has proven valuable this year in helping Yamaha through a multi-year plan to continue bike development. Rins underwent surgery during the summer break, but is eager to return to action at the British GP.
“I’m very happy to continue working with Yamaha for two more years, and thank the team and management for putting their trust in me,” Rins said. “We’ve taken some important steps this season toward fighting for championships, and I’ve seen Yamaha’s willingness to improve and put the necessary resources in to reach their objective.”
