Evasive Motorsports Recaps 2023 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is a true test of man and motorsport machine; a challenge ENEOS ambassadors Dai Yoshihara and Evasive Motorsports have faced many times, resulting in equal parts victory and defeat.
For the 101st running of the famous Race to the Clouds, the team built the Evasive Motorsports / ENEOS Oil Honda S2000RS, a highly modified version of Honda’s legendary sports car, which the team hoped would claim victory for them once again in the Unlimited Class.
Unfortunately, Yoshihara was unable to finish the climb because of a mechanical issue, which is revealed in the video. However, it highlights the hard work that goes into preparing for race week, solving issues throughout practice, and ensuring the S2000RS was on point for the main race.
“We’ve experienced joy and pain at Pikes Peak, and unfortunately we saw pain again this time,” said Evasive’s Mike Chang. “We’re still proud of the Evasive Motorsports / ENEOS Oil Honda S2000RS and what the team accomplished. When you’re pushing boundaries, the risk increases — like the first time we brought an EV, and now this highly modified S2000 — there’s always the risk of technical problems.”
