Jesse Love Wins Second Consecutive ARCA West Championship
It all came down to a thrilling last-lap pass during the Arizona Lottery 100 race, where the ENEOS-sponsored driver of the Bill McAnally Racing #16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry, Jesse Love, captured his second straight ARCA Menards Series West championship. This is the 11th series title for BMR at Phoenix Raceway.
Going into the event and the tightest title battle in the history of the series, Love knew on the final lap that he’d have to gain a spot to finish 14th and secure his championship points. With two wins under his belt, winning the tie-breaker would decide the title.
Starting from 15th on the grid, Love ran outside the top 10 most of the race, and after slipping back a few positions late in the race, he rebounded with the last-lap pass to clinch the title.
“We were minus one, and I knew what needed to be done,” said Love. “I knew we’d win the tie-breaker, and all I had to do was pass without any hiccups but I wasn’t really sure where I’d end up.”
BMR teammate Cole Moore capped off his rookie season with a 10th place finish in the #99 NAPA Power Premium Plus Toyota Camry, which propelled him to third in the overall standings and second in rookie points.
The result marked the 11th series championship win for BMR. It’s the team’s sixth title in seven years, which eclipses the previous record set by the team for the series and for NASCAR Regional Touring overall.
