Video: Does The BMW M4 GT4 Make More Power With ENEOS Oil?
ENEOS ambassador, Faruk Kugay, is a very busy man. Not only is he a professional drift driver and drift event organizer but he also runs DevSpeed Motorsports – a race, tuning and service shop based at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, CA.
With access to a rolling road dyno, Faruk and his team often see interesting vehicles appear on the rollers, including a BMW M4 GT4 racecar prepared by another Sonoma-based race team. During the team’s testing and development of the car, they wanted to try a number of different engine oils to see if they could gain an advantage. Given the tight restrictions placed on race teams by the series organizers, engine tuning is severely restricted, but any advantage is sought, big or small.
The team was experimenting with different motor oils when Faruk suggested they also try some ENEOS Racing PRO 10W-50 oil he had on the shelf. Made exclusively for racing engines, the oil was heavier than the M4 GT4’s stock oil but they agreed to give it a try.
To everybody’s astonishment, after following the correct protocols to ensure the test was as close as possible to their previous runs, the ENEOS Racing PRO oil delivered astonishing results. By simply changing the oil, the team saw gains of 6hp and 7 lb-ft of torque!
The power increase speaks volumes about the superior formulation of ENEOS oil. Developed in conjunction with leading OEM manufacturers and some of the top racing teams in the world, ENEOS is able to create oils that not only protect the engine for extended periods but also reduce friction, allowing power increases.
In racing series where any small advantage can be the difference between winning and losing, ENEOS Racing PRO oil helped the team find what they were looking for. ENEOS also produces a Racing Street oil for street-legal cars that are used on for track days, etc. While regular ENEOS motor oils can also help drivers of regular cars find extended protection, reduced friction, improved fuel economy and increased power.
