ENEOS Returns to Japanese Super GT Race Series in 2021
During the recent virtual AutoSalon Tokyo, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing announced its roster for the upcoming 2021 Japanese Super GT GT500 class, which includes the newly formed TGR TEAM ENEOS. This represents an exciting new partnership between ENEOS and relative GT500 newcomer, ROOKIE Racing.
Making its debut in the GT500 class last season, ROOKIE Racing drivers Kazuya Oshima and Sho Tsuboi have already begun their preparations for the championship, starting with testing that took place on January 19 using its carbon black Toyota GR Supra. The car will soon be reconfigured with ENEOS X PRIME graphics, highlighting the Japan-only premium ENEOS engine oil product.
By co-sponsoring ROOKIE Racing, ENEOS boosts its participation in global motorsports, joining other exciting series including MotoGP, Formula DRIFT, NASCAR, IndyCar and many more. It’s been six years since ENEOS was last involved in Super GT, having previously competed from 2008-2015.
Stay tuned for updates from TGR TEAM ENEOS as they prepare for the season opener, currently scheduled to take place April 10-11 at Okayama International Circuit in Mimasaka, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
