Kraus to Pilot McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Toyota Tundra for 2020 Season
2020 is shaping up to be another exciting season of NASCAR racing for ENEOS-sponsored driver Derek Kraus. He will drive in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series on behalf of the newly formed partnership between Bill McAnally and Bill Hilgemann, known as McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, in the team’s #19 Toyota Tundra.
The 18 year-old Kraus claimed the 2019 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship with McAnally, who’s excited to help take the young driver to the next level in NASCAR: “It’s been great to be part of his development in the K&N Series these past three years. We look forward to moving ahead in advancing his career,” said McAnally.
Hilgemann, a businessman from Derek’s home town of Stratford, WI, is equally excited for this season with the new team. “We’re proud to announce the formation of this team. Derek is a talented young driver and we’re excited to have him behind the wheel,” Hilgemann said.
Kraus has made five starts in the truck series with BMR. He finished eighth at Phoenix Raceway for his series debut in 2018, and scored another eighth-place finish at Dover International Speedway in one of four starts made in 2019.
“Moving up in the full truck series will be a big learning experience for me,” said Kraus. “I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the team. It’s going to be a fun year!”
