Arpin and Block Team Up for Nitro World Games Rallycross

Rallycross events are without a doubt some of the most exciting forms of racing you’ll see anywhere in the world, and Nitro World Games is no exception. Held at the Utah Motorsports Campus, this spinoff of Travis Pastrana’s Nitro Circus is action packed with a massive jump, and ENEOS-sponsored driver Steve Arpin joined forces with Ken Block to pilot a pair of Loenbro Motorsports/cbdMD Ford Fiestas to take on the world’s greatest rallycross racers.

With multiple podium finishes in the Americas Rallycross (ARX) series, Arpin had his eyes set on his first Nitro World Games medal. Unfortunately, a new race format featured elimination in the two Challenger races early on, and with only two drivers advancing from the round, he’d need to earn a transfer spot to move on. Arpin fell to third place despite strong early lap times to try and advance.

“We may not have taken home the hardware in Utah, but the entire Loenbro Motorsports crew busted their tails for Ken and I all weekend,” Arpin said. “Nitro Rallycross represents everything that we want our sport to be, both right now and in the future. I’ll come out of this race stronger and refocused with the goal of chasing down the ARX title in the last two events of the season.”

Block looked set to earn a podium finish in his only rallycross appearance of the year, but a flat tire ended his hopes of earning a medal in his home state. The mega star ofGymkhana went home with sixth place.

NEXT RACE

Arpin’s next event takes place on September 28th at the Circuit of the Americas for ARX. If you happen to be visiting Gridlife South Festival this weekend, he’ll be representing on behalf of ENEOS and giving ride-alongs to select individuals!
