The NASCAR XFINITY Series teams moved to the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon for the Hisense 300. Kyle Larson wheeled the No. 42 ENEOS Chevy for the 200-lap race to a sixth-place finish.
Larson started fifth and led five times for 46 laps on the day and managed to overcome a mid-race pit road obstacle when a lug nut got stuck in the caliper to be in contention for the win late. With just five laps to go, Larson regained the lead and began pulling away from his competitors.

Unfortunately, the caution waived with less than two laps to go. Forced to make a difficult decision, the ENEOS crew left him on track with older tires. On the restart, Larson fell victim to fresher tires and brought the ENEOS Chevy home in sixth position.

The guys did a great job getting our ENEOS Chevy ready for the race, so hate it for the team we aren’t celebrating a win. I knew it would be hard to get out front and hold the lead with old tires on the last restart, but had a run and got too tight and hit the wall a bit. We’ll keep racing hard and hopefully get a win soon.”
