Mooresville, N.C. (Feb. 29, 2016) — The Larson Marks Racing team and driver Shane Stewart left Texas proud of their two Craftsman World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series top-10 finishes.
The Larson Marks team traveled West from Mooresville, N.C. for two nights of racing in Texas before heading to the West Coast. In the team’s first start at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, Stewart qualified ninth and finished third in his heat race. After starting ninth in the feature event, Stewart advanced three spots to finish sixth.
The following night at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, Stewart won his heat race which transferred him into the night’s dash. After starting sixth, Stewart gained two positions to secure the fourth-place starting position in the feature event. Stewart raced as high as second before slipping back to a third-place finish.
“We had another couple of solid top-10 finishes,” said Stewart. “(Crew members) Scotty, Heath, and Andrew have been working really hard at making the No. 2 faster every night. We are gaining ground and hopefully we can get a win here real soon.”
Stewart and Larson Marks Racing will next compete at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 3 and 4.
