The NASCAR XFINITY Series teams moved to the first 1.5-mile track of the 2016 season on Saturday afternoon at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Kyle Larson wheeled the No. 42 ENEOS Chevy for the 162-lap race to a second-place finish. In three previous starts at the 1.5-mile speedway, Larson has two top-five and three top-10 finishes.
Larson started fourth and spent the entire day racing inside the top-five. Over the course of the day, Larson’s crew fine-tuned the ENEOS Chevy to allow him to challenge for the race lead. With less than 40 laps to go, Larson took the second spot and began running down eventual race winner Kyle Busch. Although slowly reeling in the race leader, Larson ran out of time and brought the car home in second-place. This marked his best AMS XFINITY Series finish.

Obviously we wanted the win, but I’m still happy to start out on a mile and half-track with a strong runner-up finish. The ENEOS Chevy was solid all race and never really had any issues. The pit crew also did a great job getting us off of pit road fast. We showed that our cars, and team, should be competitive this season.”
