An impact with the outside wall caused a broken suspension that ended Akinori Ogata’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Phoenix International Raceway Friday night, November 14 at the Lucas Oil 150.
Ogata, piloting the No. 63 ENEOS Chevrolet for MB Motorsports, ran as high as 19th place in the running order after rallying from a last-place start due to a stuck throttle during the day’s qualifying session. Ogata was running in 22nd at the halfway point of the race, on a quest to score his second top-20 finish in three Truck Series starts in 2015. That progress stalled when Ogata was forced into the wall by two trucks attempting to race three-wide on lap 105. The impact caused a broken suspension and ended Ogata’s night prematurely.
